So a while back my mom had asked me for a gift that she had wanted for a long time.....to organize her pantry. To me this sounded awesome because I love organizing! A few months went buy though and it just never happened until the other day. So here is the journey to an organized pantry :)

So the Before picture...  Many times before we had tried to organize this but it never happened so we finally decided this was getting ridiculous. So here is the craziness before! {don't judge...ha}

Our first round of containers that came in :) If you know me at all I love organizing stuff! I love containers and being able to put everything into little containers...so this site was so exciting!

The first part done :) As you can see oatmeal, snacks, water flavors, caramels, baking powder, brown sugar, powdered sugar, sugar packets, pasta, and marshmallows!

This part below took me 6 hours one day just to get all of that situated! My feet hurt so bad after doing this from standing on my feet all day the day before and then the next day at clinicals!

When doing the cans I knew I HAD to have one of these! You can buy them at target for about $12. I love it because we always have cans but you never have any idea what they are! This stand makes things so nice because you can actually see what you have! The rest of the cans we had we just stored in the basement :)

The first two shelves done :) I may have stood in front of it just looking and admiring it for 5 minutes :)

The cereal containers :) I love this :) There is a pinterest picture with really cute labels for these! I just have to figure out where to get them from! They say what they are in cute font sideways!
You can also see my cupcake holders :) We used a pasta container to put those in there! Once again another pinterest idea!

Getting closer to be done!

And to finish it all off! Our beautiful pantry! With all the cute little baskets and containers you could imagine!

In the top basket I have all of my cupcake stuff
{I have a ton!}
so it needed a basket of its own!

We have a whole snack shelf! All of the containers are air tight! You press the button and the lid can easily be pulled right off and when you are done you put the lid back on and just push the button back in! So easy!

Basket #1 on the bottom right is filled with all of the extra stuff that didn't fit in the container we had for it ! {Extra powdered sugar, pasta, mints, chocolate chips, etc.}

Basket #2 on the bottom left is just our trash bags! We always store our trash bags there and we weren't going to put a basket there but come on....don't they look cuter in a basket! I think so!

Starting with our little baskets....
All of our K cups in one :)
Baking stuff and bags in the next!

Little extras in the next one {big league chew, popcorn, ramen noodles, etc.}
The next one is pre cooked bacon..ha we had a lot so we needed a basket for it! Plus we didn't have anything else to put into that basket!

The snack section up close :)

Another up close!

I had to take an up close of my cupcake holders because I love this idea! It makes storing them so easy! When you don't have anywhere to put them they get smushed and all messed up in the cabinet normally. So this little idea was brilliant in my opinion!

Up close of the can shelf!

And finally the BEFORE and AFTER picture :)

Although you can see this here and it looks beautiful...seeing it in person is so much better:) So don't mind me if you come over and I just so happen to open the pantry doors and leave them open!

The things you learn on Pinterest

So tonight I am troubled with the tragedy of insomnia. It is our last day in Daytona Beach and tomorrow we head over to South Carolina to spend one more week in Hilton Head. Were getting up early and making the lovely 5 1/2 hour drive. So what does one do this late at night when you just can't sleep.... Pinterest, YouTube, blog, etc :)

First off, let's start with YouTube. I am one of those people that can spend hours on
it, just looking up random people that do cover songs and listening to them. Well that is what is playing in the background while I continue to increase my Pinterest addiction..... One of my favorite is this girl... http://www.youtube.com/user/AlexGMusic7?feature=watch I don't know why, but I could listen to her sing for hours! She's a hoot to watch too (hoot.... yeah that's what I said).

Anyways...Pinterest... so the things I have gathered on my late night of pinteresting :)

1. When you log in, there will always be a pin about a wedding, or a wedding dress, a bridesmaid dress, bridal party ideas, wedding gift ideas, or something cute you could include in a wedding. You get the point!

2. Pinterest makes you feel awful about your wardrobe because they have so many cute outfits on there that you would just die to have. (Doesn't every girl want their "pinned" closet?? I know I do!)

3. The amount of things I pin for my future to do lists....I probably will never look at again.

4. There are a ton of awesome tattoo ideas....I've found mine!! {"I live to let you shine"} on my foot!

5. I found out why (or why supposedly) you wear your wedding ring on that certain little finger!
http://gqgirl.hubpages.com/hub/Why-is-the-wedding-ring-on-the-4th-finger  I don't even care if that is a reason or not...I love the thought behind it!!!

6. The amount of things I have planned on my wedding board that I would love to do would only happen if I was a millionaire.... hey maybe one day I will be and if not... there are plenty of DIY things for my future bridesmaids and I to do ;)

7. You also find the cutest proposals on there that make our future husbands have much to live up to!! {that's why my boyfriend has a Pinterest :), even though he never gets on it!}

8. The amount of pins to pin for your children (future children in my case) is amazing! They have so many amazing ideas and such good ideas for games, arts and crafts, and teaching them Bible verses even! ....I've always said, if Pinterest isn't around when I have kids, what am I going to do! I have spent so much time pinning things for them :) and finding super cute trendy outfits for them! haha

9. People still do random acts of kindness! Which I still need to do! I love the idea of doing tons of random acts like that! What a humbling experience!!

10. You can decorate your house with cardboard and 2 liter bottles! Ha! I saw this one tonight when I was browsing! They made a foot stool from that!! But really, the pins to decorate your house are amazing! So many good ideas! I must consult my pinterest board when I decide to buy {preferably build} by future house!!

11. You can be an awesome organizer! Seriously though! If I took the time to really look at all the pins I have pinned about ways to stay organized, I would be one heck of a clean organized person...buttttt the likeliness of that happenings is pretty slim!

12. It's ok to try a DYI things on Pinterest and completely fail! Lot's of people do :) Just scroll to the top and in the search bar type in "nailed it" it will make you feel better trust me! And make you laugh!

13. You can always find an amazing dessert recipe! That is like my favorite thing to do on Pinterest! Look up new fun desserts and new ways to decorate cupcakes!! On the downside...it will also make you very hungry!

Some of my favorites:
http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Peanut-Butter-Chocolate-Dessert I actually made that this week for fourth of July!
http://ideas-am.blogspot.com/2013/05/peanut-butter-cheese-ball.html?m=1 this is amazing! My friend and I made this a while back and we ate in by ourselves in only two sittings! If you love peanut butter pie! This is close!

14. You will always be amazed when getting on! No matter what, every single time I get on I find something that makes me say "wow" or "good idea" or "that's so easy, why didn't I think of that" ...always!

Well that's all for now! I am sure there are 101 more things I could think of but I should probably get some sleep! http://pinterest.com/kris10_2011/boards/

John 14:27

Tonight I decided to start a new devotional. It was one that was on my app on my iPhone by Joyce Meyer. Today's started in John 14:27.

John 14:27

New Living Translation (NLT)
27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

I absolutely loved this verse. It is seriously something we need to remind ourselves of daily. I highly recommend you reading all of John 14 though because it is all good!

To me knowing that God can give us a peace that the world is unable to give us is such a beautiful thing. The verse doesn't say to not be troubled or afraid in one situation but it is ok to be in another. We are to not be troubled or afraid in all of our situations because when Jesus left this earth He promised us a peace not only of the heart but of the mind.

To me you can only find this when you are truly seeking it. You have to be seeking Christ and be in His presence to truly feel His peace. Once you realize that God has commanded us to not to be afraid it seems more clear that we don't have a reason to truly be afraid because the Creator of the Universe told us it wasn't necessary.

This is a verse that can apply to so many situations. Especially if you are going through a hard time right now, remember Jesus offers a peace to your heart and mind through the Holy Spirit. Trust in Him that everything is in control. God doesn't want bad things to happen in your life, but we live on an earth where they just do. But if you continue to trust in Him He can turn any situation around and bring glory to Him if you just believe in Him and his everlasting peace.

Daytona Beach, Florida

So today we have officially arrived in Daytona. It was definitely quite the journey to get down here though. We left early Friday morning (which was quite difficult I might add since i got home around 2:30am and my mother decided to wake us all up at 4:30am.

6:30am- we packed up the car and headed to red box and McDonalds and the hit I75 for our lovely 15 hour car ride!!

Mom decided she would start driving and would try to make it to Georgia, our stopping point for the night. After about 10 hours of driving we made it to Georgia around 7ish and went for a walk to find dinner. We found ourselves at The Distillery, a quaint little hole in the wall Restraunt. Although its appearance wasn't the greatest the food was amazing! If you are ever in Savannah, Georgia it's definitely a place to eat at if you want a good burger.

While we were in Savannah I found out that this was the most haunted city in the United States... Awesome right?definitely not. I am happy to say that we didn't encounter any ghosts just lots of ghost tour buses and a few hearses.

In the morning we woke up and attempted to drive to a place with shops but couldn't find it so we just decided to head toward our destination. We had 4 more hours to go and boy did they feel like forever. I passed the time by watching the movie side effects... Bad idea it wasn't very good.

Anyways we finally arrived around 3.

Thankfully our room was ready! We decided to unpack the car, go to publix, chill for a bit, and then go to dinner. Now were back at the hotel for the night chilling in the lounge area currently playing Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader.

The view from the balcony!

And I will finish with a quote fromJon:

Background info: this was his like 4th shirt he had tried on. None of them looked that great so he had to change each time. So now we are on the 5th shirt and all of us are waiting to leave for dinner.

Jon- "guys does this outfit look good?"
All of us- "yeah it looks fine."
Jon- "guys I don't want to look just fine, I want to look good. You guys just said that because your in a hurry to put a burger in your mouth."

I have been inspired!!

So today I was scrolling through Pinterest {typical} and I came across this blog. I am completely and totally inspired! This woman instead of celebrating her birthday the typical way, she decided to do 38 random acts of kindess for her 38th birthday!

How awesome does that sound?! Pretty awesome to me! Well this is what I really want to do for my next birthday! I normally always have a huge get together, but I didn't want that this year, so looks like I found my idea :)

The effects of an exhausted college student

Being tired all the time is nothing new to me.

Since school has started, sleep has been the least of my priorities. This is the picture that is hung up in one of our hallways at school that pretty much defines how college is. I will always choose a social life over sleep. So the effects were made known yesterday.

Yesterday I had clinicals. So I started my day off at 4:30am getting up, showering, and getting ready for the day. I also had to finish some paperwork so I had to get up a little earlier. I have clinicals from 7am-2pm. I typically get there early though! If you are late or don't show up more than once you can fail, so I always leave time to be late. Plus it's a 45 minute drive.

At clinicals though, I had the opportunity to witness to a guy. He was telling me how recently just got his life right with God, and was doing some searching. He had told me about all the crazy things that had happened in his life and how he kept refusing to accept God. But finally one day he was seriously scared of dying and felt that this was the time He needed to have God in his life and just turn everything over to Him. It was ironic because I had done my devotion earlier that morning on
Romans 8:17-18
2 Corinthians 4:17-18
1 Peter 1:6-7
All of these verses talk about how no matter what kind of suffering we go through on earth, NOTHING compares to what is coming and what God will give us in Heaven. So I went on to share these verses with him. He was so thankful that we had met and he knew it was part of  God's purpose because he needed to hear these things. It was seriously such an encouragement!!

Anyways... after clinicals I am ALWAYS dead tired! So I got home around 3pm and decided to watch a show (Hawaii five-0). I watched about half of it and my mom needed to do some work in the room I was in so I decided to pause my show and go clean the kitchen. After cleaning the kitchen I finished my show and decided a nap sounded lovely. So I fell asleep around 5pm. My dad came home a little after 6 and tried waking me up (I do not do well with people waking me up from a nap1) so that did not go over well, and I went upstairs and went back to bed. I woke up around 8pm to a phone call from my boyfriend and talked to him for a bit and went right back to bed. I woke up two other times in the middle of the night to my mom asking me to take my dog out, but besides that I finally woke up again at 8:15 this morning. Holy cow right?!

I slept for 15 hours!!!  So in other words I was definitely sleep deprived! So today is a good and rested day.  Plus I started my day off right

Now off to study for my lovely nursing quiz tomorrow! Say a prayer for me!! <3

The weekend + Monday

So what was exciting about my weekend? Well let me tell you :)

I know I know, blogging twice in one day? I write my own rules and I think I can blog as many times as I want.

Thursday- I had nursing class from 8-2. Yeah it was exactly how it sounds, awful. Ha. After we got out of class my friend and I went to the library to start our care plans that we have to do from our clinicals. We spent a little time doing that, then decided to go over to another one of my friend's house to hang out and do our homework there {which is never a good idea}

While we we there we realized there were 7 nurses/potential nurses in that house! Which we thought was pretty awesome. We also decided at one point to practice starting an IV. Three of us are in our second semester of nursing and another one is in her first, with the rest of them being nurses. For us in school, we aren't allowed to do IVs until our final semester and even then our first time ever giving an IV will be on a patient since it is no longer legal to do it on each other.

So we sat at the kitchen table and took turns inserting these little butterfly catheters{see picture below} that are used to draw blood into each other. This was so awesome and yet so crazy at the same time! I was sweating I was so nervous!!  But it was so fun and I didn't even leave a bruise so kudos to me :)

Friday- It consisted of working from 12-6pm. Then my family, boyfriend, and I all went to outback for dinner {which was amazing might I add} Then my boyfriend and I went to Kohl's to shop for a bit and pay our charge card. So the only picture I have from this day is one of the shirts my boyfriend decided to buy. {if you know him you will totally understand} He is just a goof ball!

Saturday- It consisted of working from 9-4. This day was difficult! I had got 3 hours of sleep Wednesday, and 5 hours of sleep on Thursday and Friday, and I felt it! I am in customer service so not having adequate sleep is never a good thing! I decided my customer service was at about a 6 out of 10 that day! All day all I could think of was getting home and sleeping! So that is what I did! I walked in the door, walked straight to the couch {it was closer than my bed} and fell asleep! That night I also went over to my boyfriends and hung out but nothing exciting happened there either, we just took a nap!

Sunday- I love Sundays, mainly because I love church. This past Sunday was our church's 30th anniversary so we had two special speakers that morning and at night. It was so awesome! If they post the podcast online I will make sure to share it!

Also on Sunday in between services my boyfriend and I went over to his brother and sister and laws house. I loved this. I got to spend time with some of my favorite people, drink coffee, and work on my blog. {And also beat my boyfriend in fantasy football might I add}. I hadn't had a coffee in a while and I was craving one like crazy on Saturday too, so I decided I needed one on Sunday.
I need to add a picture of this coffee so you get the idea of how amazing it was.

It is huge. Yes I did by a large, and loved every minute of it. I am pretty sure it took me the entire time in between church services to drink it too! It was taking so long I had to warm it up at one point because it got so cold. But yeah Sunday was absolutely lovely and I ended a lovely day with Chipotle, which makes everything better!

Now today...Monday- Today I woke up feeling so rested which typically never happens so this made for a lovely morning! While I was getting ready I decided to find a message on Youtube to listen to while getting ready so I chose... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBhqrtMqrv8 You definitely need to check it out. It talks about being a lukewarm christian.

10:30am- I had my religion class which was very good as always!
11:20am- starts my 3 hour break. This typically lasts for forever but today it went super fast.
I started with doing my devotion
I am starting She Reads Truth. A friend of mine had inspired me plus I needed a good devotion to start anyways so I decided why not :) So we started in Galatians. If you need a devotion you should try it! Today is the first day :) http://shereadstruth.com/ <<< all the information

Next I tried to study for my Nutrition test on Wednesday
...that didn't go so well though. I get distracted easily. Plus religion is really boring.

Next I attempted to read a book for religion...

My teacher introduced this book to us by saying "this is one of the most boring books you will ever read and you will definitely hate it" So this didn't go so well either. I made a cute bookmark though for it :)

I also had another one of those HUGE coffees that I got on the way to school because what other better way is their to start a Monday off right but with a devotion and a coffee :)

Then I got lunch before my 2:30 English class. I wanted to emphasize this because going to lunch here is a pain in the butt.  Let me explain >>>
This is about halfway down the hallway that we have to go down to get to the cafeteria. It is like a wind tunnel too! You can't walk either way without feeling like a fan is right in front of you? It also makes for an awkward walk to lunch because you have to pass people over and over again where you see them from a long distance away and don't know if you should look at them from a distance or when they get closer. I am sure you all know what I mean :)

Anyways...that is a sum of my weekend and my Monday so far!
